Fórnoles – Hermitage of ‘Montserrate’

Time: 1h 30min (Round trip)

Length: 12,4 km

Height difference: 200m

Leave the village towards Llavarco and cross the road, take a cattle route that goes up to the hermitage.

The path is a pleasant walk through terraces and agricultural fields (mostly olive and almond trees), winding slowly upwards and combining some paved stretches with the cattle route.

Go into the forest following the markers, where pine trees and kermes oak can be found. Without further ado, you will reach a high area where cypresses mark your entry in the beautiful ‘ermita de Monserrate’. Once here, relax and admire the surroundings.

The Monserrate cypresses form one of the most important ensembles in the region, and appear in the book of special trees of Aragón.
