Welcome to Calaceite, the cultural and monumental capital of the Matarraña. On a small hill, once crowned by an ancient fortification, its streets form a complex urban ensemble that revolves around its emblematic Plaza Mayor.

This town, a refuge for artists from around the world, preserves in its Baroque streets an impressive number of noble and religious buildings, making its architectural ensemble one of the richest in Aragon. Calaceite stands at an altitude of 511 metres above sea level and covers an area of 81.33 km².

Step into the Juan Cabré Museum, a space dedicated to the life and work of the renowned archaeologist Juan Cabré, who was born in this town. Cabré was a pioneer in the discovery of numerous Iberian, Celtiberian and prehistoric settlements across the Iberian Peninsula. In the Museum, you can also enjoy an ethological section and another devoted to Contemporary Art, reflecting Calaceite's deep connection with history and culture.
