Maella Street

From the church street runs Maella Street, connecting the town centre with the northern part of the settlement. This street is of considerable length and runs in a straight line. It is flanked by numerous Baroque buildings that make it one of the most beautiful streets in Calaceite.

The interest of its noble ashlar masonry façades is concentrated in the grand portadas adoveladas and in the projecting ashlar masonry balconies adorned with fine ironwork. Among its magnificent 18th-century buildings, those at the end closest to the Pilar chapel stand out, especially those at numbers 28 and 35. The building at number 12, Casa Suñer, is also of great interest, adorned with exquisite projecting balconies with a mixtilinear plan.

This street ends at one of the most complex points of Calaceite's urban fabric: the chapel-gateway of the Virgen del Pilar (portal de la Mare de Déu del Pilar).
