La Portellada, a village full of history and charm in the Matarraña
La Portellada, divided into Mas de Dal and Mas de Baix, gained its independence in 1874. It stands out for its spacious mas and its olive oil with Denominación de Origen Bajo Aragón.
Welcome to La Portellada
Although La Portellada originally came into being as a district of the neighbouring village of La Fresneda, in 1874 King Carlos III granted it the status of an independent town.
Even so, the village today remains divided into two areas/districts: “Mas de Dal” (Masía de Arriba) and “Mas de Baix” (Masía de Abajo), echoing its origins. The spacious mas are still today a characteristic feature of this municipality and a perfect example of the rural architecture of the area.
Among its most typical products is its olive oil, classified under the Denominación de Origen del Bajo Aragón.
