Olivera del Pla

From the village of La Portellada, take the TE-22 road towards La Fresneda and, about 800 metres along, on the left, you will see the access to this olive tree.

It is a very vigorous specimen, of large dimensions, with a trunk of considerable girth set at two heights in a wall or dry-stone terrace. The centre of the trunk is hollow, forming a small cave with numerous grooves and hollows. You can appreciate the laborious work of terracing the land using dry-stone walls, a construction technique based on the use of stone without mortar or render.
