Route description
The trail starts from the lower part of Torre de Arcas, beginning at the medieval bridge that once served as the main entrance to the village. After crossing the bridge, the route follows an old cobbled path, alternating with various stretches of agricultural track.
After about half an hour of walking, the trail begins a steep climb along a path that seems to have been hewn from the rock itself. To the right, beside old cultivated areas, there are several small shelters formerly used by shepherds. At the top of the climb, you reach a well-maintained track around which there are a few farms.
Continuing along the track, you soon cross into the province of Castellón. Numerous signs will indicate that this route coincides with the path leading to Zorita, in the Castellón comarca of Els Ports. After an hour's walking the track begins to ascend, then alternates near-level stretches with ups and downs.
In the final section of the route you begin to glimpse the impressive panoramas that the Monegrell will offer. At the foot of this hill there is a forest fire lookout hut, next to a water tank used in case of fires. A short path starting from the tank leads up to the Monegrell summit (924 m altitude, barely 5 m from the hut).
