Route description
A route designed for enduro riding and to enjoy the descents along the pristine trails of Peñarroya de Tastavins. This route starts from the StartPoint-Peñarroya1300, the common point for all the routes, and consists of three climbing sections.
A 1st climbing section of 12 km along a track with a short trail section that ascends up to T1 Cingla de Sant Jaume at 1,256 m. A spectacular rocky cleft opens the doors to 8 km of descent along trails almost to the very heart of the Rocas del Masmut (-500 m).
The 2nd climbing section runs along a tough track with ramps of up to 24% that, in 11 km, reaches a natural viewpoint over Els Ports and then one of the great surprises of the route, the ascent to T2 Tossal Hereu (1,326 m). On clear days you can make out Peñagolosa (the highest point of Castellón), Monte Caro (the highest point of Tarragona), a distant Moncayo (the highest point of Zaragoza) and the Monte Perdido massif. The descent that follows is the most extreme of the whole route: 650 m of elevation drop over 4 km along 100% Matarraña trails.
Lastly, there is the 3rd climbing section of barely 3 km and T3 Pinar Disent (Esllicent), a 175 m descent with the odd trial-type passage. From the lowest point of the route you climb up to connect with route 2, which will bring us back to Peñarroya de Tastavins. From here, you can extend it along the recommended route 1 and its 8 km to enter the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Fuente.
