Route description
You can drive to the end of the Ulldemó river track (signposted as La Pesquera), from Beceite, eight kilometres from the village. From this point, very close to the Cueva del Sinto cave, the trail begins and, over stretches of steep gradient, leads to the summit of the Mola del Lino. In the first third of the route, beside a rock face, you will find several shelters that were once used to house livestock.
The ascent is continuous and the trail, of great beauty, forges its way sometimes through vegetation, sometimes over bare rock. It is worth pausing to notice how, as you gain height and look to your left, you can make out the Mas de Pataquera, the Barranco de la Llosa ravine and, higher up, the views over the Ulldemó river valley. The progressive change in tree and shrub species is also a good reference point.
After a short descent, you soon resume the climb. On a hillside you reach the masets (small farmhouses) of Lino, beautifully restored and converted into a privately owned cabin. The views from this point are well worth taking in, as they look out over the valleys and ravines of the Ulldemó river to the right, and the Algars river to the left.
From the masets the gradient steepens as you ascend, to the right, to the top of the Mola de Lino. At the flat summit, at over 1,200 metres altitude, you are rewarded with an unforgettable panorama stretching across vast areas of the Puertos de Beceite.
