To everyone who loves the Matarraña

To all of you, we hope you are keeping well. It's been a while since we last saw each other…. It was a completely different time from this one. It feels like a century has gone by. We were all travelling, discovering new places, meeting new people…

We have spent many days confined at home. And that's how it has to be, because what matters now is protecting our loved ones and preventing this cursed COVID-19 from continuing to take away our relatives, friends or neighbours.

The Matarraña is worried about the situation we are living through. We are worried about you, about the people who have a bond with this land, about those who have visited us, about those of us who live here…

Maybe, because of your job, you have to go out every day. Or perhaps you can work from home. Or you've been forced to stop. And surely it happens to you, as it happens to all of us, that in some low moments you remember the trips you've taken… the spectacular sunsets you've watched in different places, that wonderful food (though the best part was the company) you enjoyed during your last holidays… The age-old traditions you discovered for the first time on one of your trips, and that surprised you so much. The dips in the river, the smell of spring… the taste of local produce… the walks you took along paths where there was no one but you and your family.

Well, even though things are like this now, let me remind you that all of this will come back. That after some time, however long it takes, we will open our front door and go out again. We will hug and kiss once more. We will travel again, discover new places or return to the ones we've fallen in love with.

For now, take good care of yourself. Protect your family and your friends. And remember that you are important to us. We met in another time and we want you to still be here when all this is over. We want to see you again.
