The Matarraña Bike Park is a mountain biking facility located in Fuentespalda, created to offer technical progression, safety and an authentic connection with the natural surroundings.

Its location is no coincidence: it was chosen based on the orographic conditions of the terrain, which allow for descents with real elevation gain and varied routes; the feasibility of installing a uplift system; and the proximity to the zip line, another key attraction in the area. The combination of these factors makes this location a strategic and ideal setting for the development of the Matarraña Bike Park.

This is a facility that has been built with respect, shaping the terrain, recovering old trails and adapting each line to the existing landscape — it is not an artificial park.

It is a public infrastructure, with free access and operational 365 days a year. A commitment driven by the Comarca del Matarraña/Matarranya administration and funded through the FITE 2022.

The layout is designed by specialists

The lines have been designed by riders with experience in national and international competitions, alongside specialist companies such as MTB Pyrenees.

The construction was carried out with meticulous and careful work, coordinated with the companies Dos Sport and Biciacción, combining professionalism, knowledge of the terrain and respect for the mountain at every section of the route.

Every bend, every berm and every jump has been designed to generate flow and safety, but also excitement. Machine-built sections and fine manual work have been combined, making use of old mule tracks and natural gorges.

The result is not merely a set of descents. It is a coherent technical setting, integrated into the landscape and ready to impress from the very first run.

General trail characteristics

Layouts designed to offer progression, flow and technical character, always maintaining integration with the mountain.

The lines of the Matarraña Bike Park

The blue line, La Serra, is the longest and most accessible at the Matarraña Bike Park. It is a flow-style run of intermediate level, designed for safe progression and building confidence. Its gradients, which in some sections reach 35–40%, have been smoothed out with well-crafted berms that maintain flow throughout the descent.

Along the route you will find plateaus, wallrides and signposted drops, always with alternative variants for those who prefer a more conservative line. It is a run designed to consolidate technique, repeat descents and evolve step by step, enjoying the rhythm without losing touch with the mountain.

The red lines, El Corb, combine shaped sections with more natural areas, recovering old trails from the gorge and respecting the original character of the terrain. It is a natural run of intermediate/advanced level, designed for experienced riders seeking greater technical challenge.

Here the terrain is more alive, with rock sections, berms, drops and plateaus that demand precision and decisiveness at every section. The feeling is wilder and more direct, where reading the line and control make the difference. A characterful descent, designed for those who want to take their riding to the next level.

El Corb Drops variant, An alternative with a greater number of jumps, combining natural elements of the gorge with wooden modules integrated into the surroundings. A more aerial and dynamic option for those who want to raise their technical level and enjoy a more demanding route.

The black line, Pas de Bestia, is a DH run for experts, designed by rider Antonio Royo (Top 5 national DH), which reproduces the experience of a competition downhill circuit.

It features rock gardens, large drops, boardwalks and technical jumps with bail-out options, combined with more demanding natural sections that require precise terrain reading. It is designed for experienced and licensed riders who want to train, test their level or take on a route with a truly competitive character. Here, technique, speed and decisiveness make the difference.

The enduro line, la Torreta, recovers an old trail towards the la Torreta area, connecting directly with the GR and respecting the traditional route. It is a 100% natural run, adapted along an existing trail, with an authentic enduro character.

Here there is no artificial shaping: rock, uneven terrain and constant terrain reading define the descent. It is a completely organic line, designed for those who seek the purest essence of the mountain and enjoy technique in its natural state.

Halfway along the route it incorporates the Paso Jabalí (black level), an optional harder variant for riders who want to take on an extra challenge within the route.

How the bike park works

The operation is simple and flexible.

The base of the Bike Park is located about 5 kilometres from Fuentespalda, accessed via a forest track with a steep gradient. Access to the start of the routes can be made in approximately 15 minutes by motor vehicle, along a partially paved forest track. The climb can also be done by pedalling, especially on enduro or e-bike bikes.

Those who wish to use the uplift service must book it in advance with one of the authorised companies to ensure availability:

If you have your own driver, the vehicle may only load and unload in the designated area at the foot of the line starts. Parking is not permitted at that point.

Once at the top, the rider chooses the line according to their level or what they feel like that day. Each descent offers different variants, bail-out options and combinations. After completing the descent, you return to the base and repeat the experience.

It works like a ski resort adapted to MTB, but with one fundamental difference: there is no enclosed area here. The lines connect to natural trails and routes across the territory, extending the experience well beyond the Bike Park itself.

The Bike Park is not an isolated space. It forms part of the cycling trail network of the Matarraña region, creating a sporting experience in dialogue with the landscape.

The Matarraña Dirt Park is a facility open 365 days, with free access. Just 250 metres from the area where the Bike Park lines finish stands the Matarraña Dirt Park, a complementary facility dedicated to technical progression and jump-specific training.

It is a space made up of four jump lines with different difficulty levels (blue, red and black), designed for progressive and safe training. It includes plateaus, ramps, jumps and berms that allow you to repeat movements, refine technique and build confidence.

It is designed both for riders who want to improve their level and for schools and young people who are getting started in the world of MTB.

The Dirt Park can be used:

As a natural finish to the Bike Park, extending the experience after the descent.

  • A perfect complement for training before tackling the more demanding lines or simply enjoying jumping in a purpose-built environment.

  • Independently, as a space for learning, skill development and fun.

Safety

The Matarraña Bike Park is a space of freedom and technique in the heart of the mountains. But that freedom demands responsibility.

Each rider uses the facilities at their own risk. It is essential to have the appropriate technical level and to respect at all times the signage, the one-way descent direction and the basic rules of coexistence with other users.

The Bike Park is a continuous descent area. The lines are designed for riders who descend at speed, with flow and without stopping.
For this reason, walking on the trails can create genuinely dangerous situations. A descending rider cannot always brake or swerve with enough margin, especially in technical sections, berms or jumps.

In the event of an accident, assistance will be managed through 112.
To descend any of the lines at the Bike Park and Dirt Park, a certified full-face helmet and a bike in perfect mechanical condition are mandatory.

Furthermore, although not compulsory on all trails, the use of knee pads, elbow pads, back or spine protector and gloves is strongly recommended. Protection is not an accessory: it is part of downhill culture.
On the black line, the technical level is higher and so is the demand. For this reason, full protective equipment will be mandatory here: full-face helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, back or spine protector and gloves.
