Tossal Montañés de Valdeltormo

Small Iberian settlement with several houses adapted to the terrain and a recently excavated circular tower-house, where millstones, a pottery kiln and a loom were found. Associated with the aristocratic elites, it shows several phases of occupation between the 6th and 4th centuries BC.

Location and access

To reach this settlement in Valdeltormo, take the old railway station track, which starts from the N-420 road within the village itself and is signposted. After about 3.5 kilometres you arrive at this small settlement.

The site

It comprises several houses adapted to the terrain and a circular tower-house recently excavated by J. A. Benavente and P. Moret, in which several millstones, a pottery kiln and a loom were found. This residential structure is linked to the aristocratic elites. Different phases of occupation are observed for this settlement, ranging from the 6th to the 4th century BC.

Interpretation centre

In the town centre of Valdeltormo you can visit the Centre of Iberian aristocracy and architecture. The theme of this centre focuses on the relationships between Iberian aristocratic classes and the construction of singular buildings.
