Located inside an old defensive stone tower in the heart of the village of Fuentespalda, on Calle Buenaire. It is a prismatic wall tower with a square footprint, five metres per side and distributed across three internal floors. The upper section of the tower has been completely transformed by the recent addition of a cantilevered body that serves as a viewing platform. This tower was part of the medieval defensive structures of the village. It was used as a prison — confirmed by the sign beside its entrance door reading "Cárcel Pública" (Public Gaol) and by the shackled chains still fixed to one of its side walls. Its use as a prison most likely dates from the modern period: the 19th century or the early 20th. The dungeon would have occupied the ground floor of the tower. Access is through a raised doorway framed by large voussoirs in a pointed arch. Lighting openings: small window slits similar to arrow loops open at various points around the tower. The dungeon received outside light through a small window near the entrance. The original ceiling of the three internal floors has been lost, so it is not possible to determine how the three levels were covered — they may have been simple flat structures or, as in many similar buildings, vaulted elements. Only the traces of the intermediate levels survive from this internal layout. Today, wooden platforms or floors have been installed, connected by a simple staircase. The Torreta de Fuentespalda is a clear example of how some buildings were repurposed as prisons despite not having been built for that purpose. All evidence suggests the tower came to be used as a prison once it had lost its defensive function — perhaps during the Carlist Wars or shortly after.
