The old church of San Miguel was a Gothic-style monument built in 1373, with a single nave and buttresses, similar to the Hermitage of the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Fountain. It is located on Calle San Miguel, in the northern part of the historic centre of Peñarroya de Tastavins, next to one of the old gateways into the town. Today it is a cultural and leisure space dedicated to showcasing Gothic art in the Matarraña region. Remains of the original church still survive, including a Gothic arch and others that appear to belong to its apse; the outline of the church floor plan and several buttress remnants can also be made out. The space can be visited as part of the guided walks organised by the Peñarroya de Tastavins Tourism Office.
