Several jails were built in La Fresneda and all can be visited. The first jail is on the main street of the village, next to the town hall. In this dungeon you can also see a room with a barred window, believed to have been the jailer's quarters. From this dungeon, a staircase leads up to a loft connected by a small but thick wooden door to a seven-metre-deep well. The well is divided into two levels by a stone slab floor with a hole at the bottom to access the lower section. It was in this well that prisoners were held, which gives us a faint idea of the harsh conditions they had to endure. The town hall of La Fresneda houses another of the village's jails. This cell is on the ground floor of the town hall and is believed to be even older than the one on the main street. Inside the cell, hundreds of drawings, engravings and inscriptions can be seen on the floor and walls. The latrines are also in perfect condition.
