Holy Week in the Matarraña retains influences from the Bajo Aragón tradition, with drum and bass drum beats in some villages. Night-time processions and the deep sound of the drums wind through the historic centres during the central days of the celebration.

Easter Monday, known as «dilluns de Pascua», is one of the most eagerly awaited days: people head out to the countryside to eat or enjoy the traditional «mona» or Easter ring-bread, a sweet bread typical of this time of year. This custom is especially alive in Valderrobres, Valdeltormo and Calaceite.
