In early February the Matarraña region celebrates Santa Águeda, a day on which women hold all the limelight and are in charge of organising the events: processions, meals, dancing and the distribution of the traditional «mamelletes», sweet pastries typical of this festival.
In Cretas and Calaceite, during the day, the town council is made up exclusively of women, a symbolic tradition that has been maintained over time and reinforces the feminine character of the celebration.
