On 23 April the comarca celebrates Aragon Day, coinciding with the feast of San Jorge. Alongside the institutional events of the day, the Matarraña region keeps alive a tradition shared with the Catalan territory: the book and rose festival.

Cretas, Beceite and Calaceite are some of the towns where this celebration is maintained, in which books and roses are exchanged between neighbours and themed markets are organised in the village square.
