This is a circular route that runs through the municipal areas of Valjunquera, Fórnoles, La Fresneda, Torre del Compte and the abandoned hamlet of 'Mas del Llaurador'. The route passes through olive groves, almond orchards and vineyards, as well as the riverside market gardens of the Matarraña River, and is dominated by traditional architecture buildings, built mostly using the 'pedra en sec' technique (a traditional and popular construction technique that uses stones without any mortar or binder, relying on the correct placement of the elements, maximum contact between pieces and gravity itself).
As for the heritage found along the route, it consists mainly of mas (traditional farmhouses) and hermitages. You can also visit the Sanctuary of the Virgen de Gracia in La Fresneda, and several Iberian funerary mounds from the Early Iron Age, located on the section running from Torre del Compte to the old railway station on the Val de Zafán Greenway (Vía Verde), which have been brought to attention through the development of the route.
Despite being a mountain biking and long-distance route, the 'Mas del Llaurador' route can be done in sections between towns, making it suitable for families. Along this route you will discover corners of the Matarraña region of great scenic beauty and little-known architectural features.
