The Algars River, natural border between Catalonia and Aragon, is home to a series of natural pools from its source to its mouth. Discover idyllic spots such as the Toll del Vidre, the Toll del Galeró and the Poza de Lledó, perfect for enjoying nature and cooling off, as well as walks along the Val de Zafán Greenway (Vía Verde) in a setting of Mediterranean vegetation and riverside wildlife.
The Algars River is the natural border between Catalonia and Aragon and is where several pools are found, from its source to its mouth near Nonaspe (province of Zaragoza).
Toll del Vidre
It is shared with the Catalan comarca of «Terra Alta». It can be reached from Arnes, or from the unpaved track from Beceite, which is located to the left of the road, once you pass through the tunnel. This «toll» has a waterfall and several drops that make it very appealing for children.
Toll del Galeró
A bathing spot flanked by rocks and surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, with riverside wildlife.
Poza de Lledó
A pool with remarkable views over the Matarraña aqueduct. This bathing area is located at the turn-off of the road linking Lledó and Arnes (A-231). In this setting, you can enjoy walks along the Val de Zafán Greenway (Vía Verde).
