The Marqués de Santa Coloma manor house is a singular building situated between party walls on a wide plot, extending towards two streets at different heights in the town of Monroyo. Its design and construction are a testament to the palatial architecture of the Matarraña region, combining functionality with aesthetics in a historic urban setting.
The imposing main façade
The main façade, located on the lower part of the plot, is distinguished by its five storeys and an elegant white render finish, lending brightness to the whole. A distinctive wooden eaves cornice crowns the structure, while the main doorway opens with a majestic round arch. The openings, wide and rectangular with moulded window sills, alternate with smaller splayed openings with segmental arches. A notable feature is the balcony on the fourth floor, framed by ashlar blocks and with a simple wrought-iron railing, and a square opening on the fifth floor, also highlighted by ashlar blocks, which add depth and rhythm to the composition.
