The hermitage of Santa Rosa de Viterbo lies about 3.5 kilometres from the village of Lledó, offering a haven of peace and architectural beauty. It is strategically situated near the Coll de la Forca, a place steeped in history.
Architecture and structure
The building has a single nave, elegantly divided into three bays, ending in a polygonal apse. Its side and rear walls combine the solidity of rubble masonry with the lightness of tapial, while the buttresses, key structural elements, are built with imposing ashlar masonry.
Adjacent to the hermitage stands the hermit's house, dated 1735. Although it appears connected, it is an independent construction that complements the ensemble. The elevated position of the hermitage affords excellent views of the surrounding landscape, and its grounds are equipped with tables, ideal for enjoying outdoor meals, especially on the day of the pilgrimage.
