Coveta del Aigua
A cool, damp corner among the rocks of Fuentespalda, set within the landscape of Els Ports.
The Coveta del Aigua is a small natural cavity located in the sierra of Fuentespalda, in the heart of the Comarca del Matarraña. The cave contains a spring that trickles along the rock and gives the spot its name.
How to get there
It is reached on foot from the town centre of Fuentespalda along a waymarked trail heading towards the Mas de Pau, situated at around 800 metres above sea level. The route is short and gently sloped, suitable for families.
Recommendations
- Wear comfortable footwear: the final stretch crosses uneven ground.
- The flow of the spring depends on the time of year; in summer it may reduce to a mere trickle between the rocks.
- This is a natural space with no facilities: respect the flora and fauna and leave no waste behind.
