Route description
Access to the starting point: near the Cueva de las Maravillas. The starting point of the route is reached by the asphalted track running from Beceite to the Parrizal. The sign marking where to begin walking is 1.5 kilometres from Beceite. There are GR waymarks from the village exit, accompanying walkers along the asphalted track. The start of the trail is exactly on an outer bend. Just past it there is a small flat area on the left where vehicles can be parked.
Itinerary: Km. 0.0 – Km. 1.5 of the access road to the Parrizal, near the Cueva de las Maravillas (located off the route). Signpost indicating the start of the trail, which immediately climbs eastward. PR-TE-154.
Km. 0.13 – Fork. Signpost. Continue climbing eastward. PR waymarks.
Km. 0.27 – Intermediate Cabrera fort. We reach the first fortification. The path continues climbing eastward clearly. PR waymarks.
Km. 0.57 – Upper Cabrera fort. The highest point of the excursion. This was the main fortress and the best-preserved one. Good partial panoramic views of the valley. There is an information panel. Turn back and retrace your steps in reverse, losing altitude until you rejoin the path at km 0.13.
Km. 1.0 – We are back at the same junction as km 0.13. We take the trail opening to our right heading NE, with a gentle descent.
Km. 1.2 – Fork. Follow the descending path on our left heading NW.
Km. 1.3 – Lower Cabrera fort. The closest to the valley. Retrace your steps over familiar ground and return to the starting point.
Km. 1.6 – Km. 1.5 of the Parrizal access road. End of the excursion.
